Picking themes for your home is a fun experience but only if you do it right. Many times, you may be restricted by the conventional rulebook when it comes to designing your home. It’s not written in stone that your bedroom has to be in all soft colors or that your monochromatic living room can’t do with a few flowers. Taking chances with your interior design can yield some very satisfactory results. Your home is capable of handling so much; don’t underestimate its potential. Create spaces that leave visitors in awe every time they enter a room. How to do that?

Statement Art

Art pieces that make a statement are more than a trend. Quit playing it safe with pieces that just complement your interior décor but nothing else. Get art that stands out from everything else around it. Large scale artwork is also very good at leaving lasting impressions. Be adventurous with your choices, and they won’t disappoint.

Go Bright

Most people tend to stay away from bright colors because they can be hard to match. If you are looking to go out of the interior décor box, pair up the brightest colors. A lime green sofa with orange walls for a background will add life your living room. Then you can take it down a notch with bright blue colored tiles in your bathroom will add a cheerfulness to it that is hard to beat.

Boldly Black

Incorporating black into your home décor seems too risqué, but it truly pays off. Black walls are making a comeback, and they are beautiful. Paired with a cool-toned area rug and spacious windows, a black wall gives your space a moody feel. You can also polish the floor of your home black, especially when there is too much light from the rest of the décor. Never assume that the only way to do black is in a monochromatic theme.

Stairway Treatment

It may not have appeared to you, but your stairway could use a little life as well. Most homeowners opt to leave that part of the house bare, and it works. Since you are being bold, though, you can carpet the stairway with a patterned design that doesn’t clash with the walls. There is usually very little around a stairway to mess up the harmony of the treatment, so experiment with just about any color and pattern.

Adventurous Cabinets

The cabinetry is perhaps the most critical part of your kitchen. When considering a renovation, the cabinets are usually the first things to get a makeover. Being adventurous with your cabinets doesn’t necessarily mean going crazy with the designs; just the paint. Even the most fashion-forward designs can look dull if the colors are not exciting. You can ask your builder from Air homes to use colors with personalities such as red, blue, orange and green.

Play with the bathroom

If there is one place to experiment all your décor dreams, it’s the bathroom. This space is personal, so not a lot of people will get to see it. It is the one area where you can go all white if you want to, mix up floral prints on the walls and floors or incorporate an antique vanity with a modern bathtub. The only limitations to your interior décor are all in your mind, so nothing is stopping you from being as wild as it gets.
