Christmas Market

Come join us every Saturday from November 7, 2015 until December 26, 2015 to celebrate Christmas. Located at 204 Ottowa Street, come purchase fresh, local produce anytime between 7am and 3pm. While you are here, celebrate with gifts and decorations to fill your heart with the holiday spirit.

Mary Christmas

The month long holiday event of the three local museums. Join us at the Dundurn Castle, the Whitehern Historic House & Garden or the Battlefield House Museum & Park between now and January 3, 2016 from noon until 4 pm. The museums will hold the events each day from Tuesday through Sunday, except on Mondays when they are closed.

The Holiday Puppet Show

Bring the children out to the Terryberry Library for the Holiday Puppet Show on December 9, 2015. The show will begin at 10:30 am, but there is more fun planned afterwards. There will be story telling, song singing, and lots of fun activities lead by the puppeteers of the Hamilton Public Library network.

Christmas Storytime

Bring the family closer together this season at the Sherwood Library for the annual Christmas Story time. Listen as we read all of the old classic holiday stories and reminisce on the holidays that have passed. The fun starts at 6:30 pm. on December 9, 2016.

The McQuesten's Childhood Christmas

The McQuesten’s Childhood Christmas

Step back and admire the glamour and beauty of the Whitehern Historic House & Garden from the perspective of the 19th century. Located at 41 Jackson St. W., the tree will be decorated to bring back to life the 1880’s. The house and garden is open from November 21, 2015 until January 3, 2016.

The Ring in the New Year Event

Be apart of this extraordinary opportunity to watch as the Dundurn Castle is beautifully decorated for the holidays on December 27, 2015. Take an extended tour of the MacNab’s bountiful home while listing to the tune of holiday music. Enjoy the array of traditional holidays food prepared and served in the castles’ kitchen. Presented by the Dundurn National Historic Site, this event is all about celebrating the holidays with family and friends, so all ages are welcome. The cost is $27 per person and the event is from 7pm until 9pm.

The Blue Year’s Eve

Celebrate a New Year’s family tradition at the Hamilton Children’s Museum, as all three museum galleries join together to produce one of the six count downs’ that will take place throughout the day on New Year’s Eve. Take part in any of the numerous activities taking place indoors and outdoors as we bid farewell to the past year and welcome in the New Year! There is no extra fee to join other than the regular admission price, and the festivities begin at 9:30 am, but the party does not stop until 3:30 pm.

There are plenty more events to attend, but all in all, these are the events you do not want to miss. The holidays are about happiness, peace and joy, and these events are the essence of that.
