Alair Homes Edmonton is proud to be a finalist in five separate award categories for the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Edmonton 2016 Awards of Excellence in Housing.

The Awards of Excellence in Housing celebrates the creative design and craftsmanship of Edmonton Region builders and renovators, and recognizes excellence and professionalism in the field of sales and marketing within the home construction industry.

“We are happy to have our projects recognized as finalists, against other amazing projects and companies in Edmonton,” said Jamie Affleck, Regional Managing Partner, Alair Homes Edmonton. “It’s exciting to see that Edmontonians feel value in innovative design and quality craftsmanship because it’s what our team strives to bring to each project every day. Thank you to CHBA Edmonton for recognizing our projects this year. We are truly honoured.”

Alair Homes Edmonton is a finalist for the following four projects in five categories:

Best Renovation Under $200,000

Norlund Close

Prior to the renovation, the Norland house was structurally intact, but a bit outdated and dull. It had a lot of potential but lacked personality. Keeping the cool tones and adding a sophisticated edge transformed the space into a fun and stylish home.

Modern lighting, a rustic brick wall back-splash and variegated counter tops gave the kitchen the boost of freshness it desperately needed. The new bathroom is almost unrecognizable with a sleek new shower, counter tops, and an acrylic oval bathtub.

The result is a modern meets classic style the whole family loves.

Best Renovation $200,000 – $500,000

Estate Drive

edmonton-2
This renovation drew inspiration from a variety of places. High ceilings and plenty of natural lighting give this home an expansive modern feel, while dark hardwood and slate temper the space with traditional sophistication. Rustic accents such as the mantelpiece, light fixtures, and unfinished coffee table add a touch of charm and coziness. The result is an absolutely magnificent home full of character and class.

Best Renovation Over $500,000 & Best Exterior Renovation

Chrenek Estates

edmonton-3 edmonton-4

Completed in early 2015, this project grew from a simple garage addition to a full-scale renovation and addition. Alair Homes Edmonton utilized the majority of the existing structure to keep reconstruction costs to a minimum.

Every element of the house was upgraded and updated, from the insulation to the trusses, as well as every interior and exterior finish. Complete with a half-size outdoor ice rink, a full-sized outdoor kitchen and entertaining area, and a custom built wine rack in the kitchen; this house was built to suit the homeowner’s lifestyle.

Single Family Home $350,000 – $600,000

Parkview Modern Industrial Infill

edmonton-5

One of six featured homes on the 2015 Citie Home Tour, this New York loft inspired home is a love-letter to its original design. Preserving the original foundation, which boasts a bomb shelter turned into a wine cellar, the two-storey home features a glass enclosed yoga studio, vaulted ceilings and windows that follow the sun around every corner of the home.

A custom dog shower was built into the back mudroom to pamper the homeowners’ beloved pooch.

Reclaimed wood in various colours was prominently worked into the interior and exterior design of the home to celebrate the natural beauty of the home.
