If you plan on moving to Regina, Saskatchewan, you’ll be able to enjoy all the fun events that take place in the city during the summer. Here are some of the best local summertime events happening in 2018.

Zumba on the Plaza

7:00 pm – 8:00 pm (held on Wednesdays)

This weekly event is scheduled to take place at City Square Plaza. Participants will be able to dance their ways into shape while breathing in the fresh outdoor air. People of all experience levels are encouraged to attend.

Farmers’ Market

June 20 – October 3, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (held on Wednesdays and Saturdays)

City Square Park also hosts this popular famers’ market. Farmers from around the area sell fresh produce and other useful items to shoppers. Booths are set up in an open-air setting to give shoppers the chance to check out all the selections at their leisure.

Games in the Park

June 5 – August 29, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (held on Mondays and Tuesdays)

Whether you have children or just want to feel like a kid again yourself, this event is for you. Games in the Park takes place at Victoria Park and includes outdoor bowling and chess tournaments. You can even try your hand at oversized Jenga and other fun-filled activities.

Community Art Show – Eastbrook Showhome Parade

June 21, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Artworks that were created by some of the area’s top artists will be on display outdoors at Primrose Green Drive and Chuka Boulevard. Live music will also be played to provide additional entertainment for attendees. A variety of food choices will be available as well.

RCMP Depot Division’s Sunset-Retreat Ceremony

July 1, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm (and then weekly every Tuesday until mid-August)

To coincide with Canada Day, the commencement of this annual event includes military ceremonies that pay tribute to national pride. Canadian soldiers mounted on horses, the firing of an old cannon and other military drills are showcased before live audiences at the RCMP Heritage Centre.

The 5K Foam Fest

July 14, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Combining fitness and fun in one, the 5K Foam Fest allows participants to go through a foam-filled obstacle course at Kings Park Speedway. The course is challenging enough but not too difficult for people of all fitness levels.

Regina Folk Festival

August 10 – 12, times vary

This three-day festival in Victoria Park is a must for any fan of folk music as well as other music genres. Held every year since 1969, this is the city’s oldest music festival to still be running. This year’s lineup includes artists like Gabrielle Shonk, Natural Sympathies and DJ Shub.

Dragon Boat Festival

August 31 – September 1, race times vary

Dragon boat races take place on the open waters of Wascana Lake. The event pays homage to an ancient Chinese tradition that still provides a thrilling experience for racers and spectators to this day. Admission is free for all ages.
