Meet the Alair Red Deer Team

Nate is the proud Co-Owner of Alair Homes Red Deer and as a Third Generation Home Builder, Nate learned to frame homes in his teens, before starting a Framing and Renovation company with his brother in his early twenties. Nate then joined Alair in 2016 and has not looked back, building on those strengths with the experience of his team at Alair Homes.

The greatest joy for Nate in the construction industry is creating lasting relationships with clients and the many amazing industry partners Alair has.Without whom, our numerous award-winning projects and raving reviews would not be a possibility. As an owner, Nate emphasizes the goal of consistent improvement of the company, industry and himself.

To relax you can often find him reading a new book, or playing board games with his wife Darby and their six-year-old Noah.

Derek is the proud co-owner of Alair Homes Red Deer. He has been working in the home building industry for more than 20 years, but he received his Journeyman Certificate in 2005. He has extensive experience in concrete foundations, framing and site managing renovations and new home construction. Derek has continuously updated his education over the years with completing his Professional Site management course through (PHBI) Professional Home Builders Institute of Alberta in 2012 and receiving (COR) certificate of recognition is safety in 2008 through the Alberta Construction Safety Association.

Derek Continues to stay up-to-date in the industry by volunteering his time on the local home builders association, BILD-Central Alberta, since 2016 where he became the board chair in 2018, and has committed to sit on the BILD-Alberta board from 2019-2022.

Derek spends his time away from work with his wife Denise, son Kayden and his daughter Chloe camping and hanging out on the lakes with friends in the summer. You will find him around the local hockey rinks coaching and playing in the winter months.

Staying connected with friends and family are important to Derek while always making time to meet new people.

Mike has been a project manager since 2016 and recently joined Alair Homes – Red Deer in February 2021. He has always enjoyed building things from start to finish, dating back to his childhood when he would play with Lego or model cars. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in management, marketing, and international business from Minot State University, North Dakota. During that time, he played college baseball for four years on a scholarship.

Mike is amazed at how connected the Alair network is. He is honoured to be part of the team atmosphere that has been established. In terms of what he brings to the team, he is known for his organization and dedication to getting the job done well and on time.

Mike often refers to building a new custom home as a "journey." To him, it's more than just constructing a new house or renovation. It starts as a business relationship, followed by creating a vision and game plan, and finally executing the plan. His ultimate goal is to build someone's dream space and develop a lasting relationship in the process.

Mike spends his free time with his wife Teale and their two young boys Holden and Weston. In the summer, they enjoy biking, camping, and playing soccer and tee ball outdoors. In the winter, the boys are just starting to get into skating and sledding.

Koralyn has been involved in the home building industry since graduating from SAIT in 2008 with her Architectural Technologies Diploma, majoring in Building Development. She is proficient in Office Management and experienced in multiple areas of construction including estimating and municipal permitting process.

Continuing education is important to her, and she has received her Applied Land Use Planning Certificate, along with many other construction-related certifications. Her heart and passion have always been the home building industry and is thriving with this small family-orientated team.

When Koralyn is not working, she enjoys traveling, camping, gardening, reading, yoga, and spending time with her husband Brandin, and their two girls Harper and Baylee, as well as their tuxedo cat Bella.

Kelsey is our newest member here at Alair Red Deer with 10+ years in the building industry. After extended stops in the oilfield and radio industries, Kelsey made the leap to carpentry, diving into a lifelong passion that began as a young child with garage projects with his grandfather. Kelsey has extensive experience in renovations and new builds, with knowledge in stair building and roofing.

Kelsey appreciates the Alair approach to home building, whether it’s open communication lines with the customers, specific checkpoints during the project to maintain accountability, or the open door policy that makes homeowners and sub trades feel like members of the team.

Outside of work, Kelsey stays busy in the summer with golfing, camping and slo-pitch, while in the winter, he just tries to stay warm, with the occasional trip to the ski hill. Kelsey is a proud dad to Brody, who is also in the trades as a 1st year apprentice electrician in Calgary.
