Mark Mulder, the newest Partner at Alair™ Peterborough, brings a wealth of industry experience and a passion for community building to the world of custom home construction and renovations.
Mark's journey in the trades began at Humber College, where he honed his skills in plumbing. Armed with a solid foundation in the field, he embarked on a career as the proud owner of Northern Plumbing Systems, a licensed plumbing company that would span nearly two decades.
Beyond the confines of his business, Mark has been deeply involved in the local community. He served on the Board of Directors for the Simcoe County Home Builders Association (SCHBA) for an impressive decade, contributing his expertise to the industry. Additionally, he dedicated five years to the Board of Directors for Redwood Park Communities bringing safe and affordable housing for people in need.
Mark got to know Alair™ through his involvement with SCHBA, where he discovered a company that resonated with his values. The team atmosphere and collaborative home projects drew him in, aligning perfectly with his dedication to building lasting relationships and delivering top-notch products and services.
As Mark sets his sights on the Peterborough area, known for its picturesque lakes and outdoor-oriented living, he envisions a future filled with bringing residents’ dream custom homes, cottages, and renovations to life. His love for spending quality time with his family, engaging in outdoor activities like hiking, dirt biking, fishing, and cycling, and his passion for all things related to home renovations, make this transition to working in this area a natural fit.
Mark has a long-history of giving back to the community supporting organizations addressing youth homelessness and has participated in initiatives like Hockey Helps the Homeless. Mark's dedication to shopping locally reinforces his belief in supporting the community he calls home.
Beyond the construction site, Mark's athletic pursuits are noteworthy. He recently completed the grueling "Escape from Alcatraz" race, comprising a 1.5-mile swim, an 18-mile bike ride, and an 8-mile run. With his sights set on a triathlon in Muskoka, he's not only a builder of homes but also a builder of personal achievements.
It's clear that Mark’s positive and optimistic outlook, patience, willingness to learn, and the ability to accept mistakes have played a significant role in his efforts to succeed. Having mentors and learning from their experiences all while being influenced by his hardworking dad's no-nonsense attitude, are qualities he contributes to all aspects of his life.
Interestingly, Mark's yearbook once held a prediction that he would be a businessperson in a suit. However, his aversion to suits led him down a different path, one where he could wear his passion for quality construction and community involvement proudly.
As Mark Mulder embarks on this exciting new phase of his career with Alair™ Peterborough, he is set to build dreams and communities that endure for generations.
