Summer has finally arrived in Kelowna, turning the locale into a beautiful, sunny wonderland full of joy and adventure. There’s no prettier place to enjoy the festivals, parties, and outdoor activities that mark the season.

Turtle Island Festival

On June 21, celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day at the Turtle Island Festival at Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society. The festival includes a traditional feast, mini pow-wow, music, storytelling, children’s activities, and more.

Canada Day

This July 1, celebrate Canada Day at the waterfront parks and Prospera Place. This annual festival will feature more than 50 family-friendly activities and live performances as well as a breathtaking fireworks display at 10:30.

Dîner en Blanc

The legendary pop-up dinner party returns to the Okanagan Valley on July 5. At the last minute, thousands of participants will finally be given the secret location and descend en masse, dressed all in white, to a park, vineyard, farm, or other charming and picturesque Okanagan location for an evening of elegance and sophistication.

Downtown Block Party

This year’s Downtown Block Party takes place July 21. Party-goers will enjoy delicious foods, live entertainment, children’s activities, dancing, and more than 100 vendors offering great deals along Bernard Avenue.

Center of Gravity

One of the largest sport and entertainment festivals in Western Canada, Center of Gravity boasts top performers in live music performances, DJ shows, and extreme sports competitions. The event will take place July 27-29 at the City Park on Okanagan Lake.

Rock the Lake

Fans of all ages can come to Prospera Place in downtown to enjoy this classic rock festival sponsored by the local classic rock station. In addition to the classic rock bands, the festival will also feature evening light shows, food trucks, and glorious summer sunshine all weekend long from August 10-12.

Okanagan Feast of Fields

On August 12, Feast of Fields brings the harvest to the city in gourmet style. BC’s best chefs, farmers, vinters, brewers, distillers, ranchers, fishers, and food artisans gather to highlight their gourmet creations.

Ribfest

Don’t miss Ribfest from August 24-26 at the City Park. The charity event features award-winning ribbers from across Canada competing for the people’s choice award for best ribs. A beer garden, Kids Zone, local vendors, and live music round out the entertainment.

Dragon Boat Festival

Join the Dragon Boat Club on August 25-26 for its annual festival as teams from across Canada compete in races. Great food, live entertainment, and vendors will all gather in beautiful downtown Waterfront Park to put on a weekend of fun for the whole family.
