Meet Team Bow Valley

Nate is the proud Co-Owner of Alair Bow Valley and a Third Generation home builder. Nate built a foundation of skills beginning at a young age on his father's job sites in the BC interior and the Bow Valley. In his early 20s, he and his brother started a framing and renovation company (and moved to Central Alberta) and continued the legacy of their forefathers. Nate joined Alair in 2016 and has not looked back, building on his strengths with the team at Alair Homes!

The greatest joy for Nate is creating lasting relationships with clients and the many amazing industry partners Alair has. Without whom, our numerous award winning projects and raving reviews would not be a possibility. As an owner, Nate emphasizes the goal of consistent improvement of the company, industry and himself.

Away from the job site, you will find Nate spending time with his wife, Darby and their 3 kids. There is always a project of some sort on the go! To recharge, they pack the family up for a hike or picnic in the mountains, play board games around the dining table, or settle down for a family movie night and popcorn.

 
Derek is the proud co-owner of Alair Homes Bow Valley. He has been working in the home building industry for more than 20 years, but he received his Journeyman Certificate in 2005. He has extensive experience in concrete foundations, framing and site managing renovations and new home construction. Derek has continuously updated his education over the years with completing his Professional Site management course through (PHBI) Professional Home Builders Institute of Alberta in 2012 and receiving (COR) certificate of recognition is safety in 2008 through the Alberta Construction Safety Association.
 
Derek Continues to stay up-to-date in the industry by volunteering his time on the local home builders association, BILD-Central Alberta, since 2016 where he became the board chair in 2018, and has committed to sit on the BILD-Alberta board from 2019-2022.
 
Derek spends his time away from work with his wife Denise, son Kayden and his daughter Chloe camping and hanging out on the lakes with friends in the summer. You will find him around the local hockey rinks coaching and playing in the winter months.
 
Staying connected with friends and family are important to Derek while always making time to meet new people.

 
Fraser has an extensive background in building and managing teams and projects. He joined team Alair after several years in Operations and Project Management for a residential design + build company in Calgary and Banff. With an engineering diploma, Fraser specialized in construction of modern laneway homes, heritage renovations and executing architecturally inspired design details in his construction builds. He is passionate about the future of construction and helping people to “age in place” through proactive accessible living. Growing up on a rural farm in Nova Scotia, he spent much of his day exploring the outdoors. This passion brought him to Canmore where he can usually be found spending time exploring the mountain landscape with his dog, Lola Louise. He enjoys everything the Bow Valley offers from rock climbing to snowboarding to paddle trips.

What's Your Favourite Thing About Working with Alair?
My favourite thing about working with the Alair team is being able to listen to everyone's ideas, then motivating a diversely talented team to make our idea a creation that not only brings joy to us the builders, but to our clients who have trusted us with their investment. It can be challenging at times but overall a fantastic and fulfilling experience.
 
What Should Someone Know About You?
I put maximum effort into everything I do. I became a builder as shelter is a basic need and right of every human. Being able to provide someone with their dream home while having them enjoy the process of us getting there together--there is simply no better feeling! I get to wake up and do this for my profession and I am so grateful for the opportunity to do so.
