Where do you usually take your dog(s)to play? In this months blog I want to share our favorite places to take our English Bulldog, Turbo, for his fun time!

Spanish Banks Beach Park

How do you go wrong with Spanish Banks? This is arguably one of the nicest beaches around Vancouver and the fact they have a designated off leash area right next to it for the dogs to play is just amazing! Year-round people enjoy visiting this great location with views of the North Shore mountains and the many container ships that pass through. The water could be warmer but its not too cold for a cool down on a hot day. If your K9 friend is front heavy like ours, a life jacket may be just the thing to help them enjoy the water safely with you.

Queen Elizabeth Dog Park

Located in Queen Elizabeth Park on 37th Avenue, this park is phenomenally beautiful. After a walk around the park, enjoying the flowers, Frisbee golf, and pitch & putt, you can then let your furry friend off leash to roam the area as well. Throwing the ball in this large size park is such a relaxing way to enjoy the evenings. We have met some great dogs and wonderful owners in our visits, which is why this is one of our favorite places to hang out with Turbo. He seems to thoroughly enjoy it as well.

Trout Lake

On the north end of Trout Lake in East Vancouver there is a wonderful off leash area where dogs of all shapes and sizes get to roam free. Timing visits to this park with the farmers markets in the summer is something everyone should do! It is great to see so many happy puppies playing around the lake, many of them in the lake, and then taking a break to gather the groceries for the next week from locally sourced farms. I really don’t know which is better, the dogs playing or the food we get from the farmer’s market……

If you have a favorite park that was not mentioned here please feel free to drop us a line and let us know. I’m sure Turbo would appreciate it!
