During the winter, the spirit of the Holidays fill the air in South Etobicoke. There are children playing in the snow, Christmas lights decorating the city, and joy is in the air. Many families enjoy gathering at events throughout the city to meet Santa and mingle with others in the community in good spirit. These 7 events are just a small portion of the activities that will be happening in South Etobicoke, but these are the must-attend events of the year.

The Oldies Dance LIVE featuring DJ Wayne– Come out to the Moose Lodge and dance to the hits of the 50’s and 60’s, including Motown Hits, Disco music and Rock & Roll. The event starts at 8pm on December 12, 2015, and the party does not stop until 2am. There will be a 50/50 draw, and all proceeds will be donated to a local charity. Everyone is asked to wear their Loonies and Toonies to support this great cause.

Santa Claws – Pet Photos- Pull out your leash or cage and bring your pets down to Cloverdale Mall to get their picture taken with Santa. Santa will be welcoming pets each Sunday from December 6, 2015 until December 20, 2015. The gate opens at 6:30 pm and Santa will stay until 8 pm.

Christmas Dinner Among Friends– Enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner with your community on Christmas Day. The event is free and open to the entire South Etobicoke area. The doors open at 12 noon and everyone gets a chance to visit Santa and get a gift. Volunteers are welcome for shifts to set up, pack gifts and serve the food, so all those interested are welcome to come at 9:30 am to help out.

Bishop Allen Academy’s Festive Dinner– Come join Bishop Allen Catholic Secondary School for this holiday celebration filled with a festive turkey dinner, children activities, and live entertainment by the students of the school. This 17 year long tradition is open to the public and it is free. The school’s SCOPE committee (Students Concerned about Oppressed People and the Environment is hosting the event.

Rainbow Kids Yoga – Bring the young ones, from ages 6 to 9, to this fun and interactive yoga event, Rainbow yoga is non-competitive and helps your children develop various physical and mental skills. Your children will learn the magic of yoga during the holiday season as they learn to healthier and happier.

The Oldies Dance LIVE featuring DJ Wayne – NEW YEARS EVE PARTY- Ring in the New Years with us at this Oldies but Goodies dance. There will be a buffet of cold foods, party favors, prizes and everyone will receive a present. Tickets are on sale for $25.

Talents & Treasures -Come join us on December 12, 2015 from 11am until 2 pm for fun hunting treasure hunting and exploring talents. Lunch will be served, along with snacks. Santa will be there and he will be taking pictures while you browse for treats and hand made items for sale and participate in the silent auction. All proceeds will be donated to benefit the Mikinduri Children of Hope fund.

There is plenty of activities throughout the city of South Etobicoke for everyone in the family. These events are meant not only to bring your family closer, but to build memories and enjoy the spirit of the season. Being apart of the holiday spirit is what Christmas is all about.
