The Beaches area is one of the more popular neighborhoods in Toronto, located on the shores of Lake Ontario, just east of the CN Tower and west of the Scarborough Bluffs. With a rich history that dates back to the 1800’s, The Beaches area has grown from a summer recreational resort to a lively community of shops, restaurants and entertainment, including the annual Beaches Jazz Festival. Since 1989, the open air, free festival attracts nearly a million visitors each year.

Living the Beach Dream in Scarborough Ontario

Life is a Beach

The Beaches area is also one of the most dog-friendly places in the city. Nearly every weekend, I take my Bernese Mountain Dog Boomer down to the Beaches off-leash area by the water to enjoy the surroundings and get a little exercise along the Boardwalk. Then it’s up to Queen Street to walk along the bustling main street, always active with people and their pets. If you’re looking for a great waterfront location for your family, look no further.
