All Is Calm, All Is Bright
One December 8, the Trinity-St. Paul’s United Church and Centre for Faith hosts a special service that celebrates the well-known armistice that occurred spontaneously on Christmas Eve in 1914. World War I troops on both sides of the war mutually laid down their weapons to celebrate the peace and joy of the season in unity. All Is Calm, All Is Bright explores this memorable event in detail through service and song. The service starts at 7:30 p.m., and attendees are asked to bring a food donation to fight hunger in the local community.
12 Beers of Christmas Party
If you are looking for a festive way to celebrate the season with your friends, neighbors and co-workers, make plans to attend the 12 Beers of Christmas Party at the Gladstone Hotel. On December 22, this unique holiday party kicks off at 6 p.m. All attendees can sample a dozen different beers from local breweries. Karaoke and dancing are also part of the fun.
