Here are events that you wouldn’t want to miss as the curtains close on 2018.
New Year’s Eve Family Party – City of Calgary
The Calgary Public Library and the City of Calgary proudly present a family-friendly New Year’s Eve party at City Hall’s Municipal Atrium and the Central Library, Olympic Plaza on December 31st. With activities like storytelling, skating, fire spinners, and dancing, there’s no better way to groove into 2019. Make sure your kid doesn’t miss out on the Central Library’s early countdown at 9 pm not to mention there will be a midnight fireworks display at Olympic Plaza.
Zoolights
Zoolights boasts as the genesis of this holiday’s Christmas glow! Happening at the Calgary Zoo and starting on November 23, 2018, all the way to January 5, 2019, Zoolights is the perfect place to enjoy attractive light displays, music, warm fire pits, and lots of family engaging activities. This is a glow-tastic holiday event with a warm embrace thanks to the million-plus lights that will transform the Calgary Zoo into an invigorating winter wonderland!
Southland Leisure Center
Slide, splash, swim, play and jump into 2019 at the Southland Leisure Center! Tag along your dear ones for loads of fun as Southland will have games, arts/crafts, bouncy house and obstacle courses. Feel free to explore the water park as there will be a seasoned DJ unleashing vibrant tunes to keep families entertained while having fun at the hot tub, slides and wave pool. Don’t miss the pool party countdown scheduled shortly after 5 pm.
Pictures with Santa
No Christmas is complete without the opportunity to whisper into Santa’s ear. Take little ones to take part in a long-lasting holiday tradition- pictures with the jolly man himself! Line up as early as December 7th to dive into childhood nostalgia and purchase a precious holiday photo you’ll want to keep on display year-round.
Okotoks Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party
There will be free family activities at the Okotoks Recreation Center come December 31st, 2018. From swimming to skating, and anything in between, there will be many activities to choose from. Note that fireworks set off from Lineham Park starting at 7 pm.
