The client's dad built the house when the client was a teenager. His Dad has lived in it ever since but had become ill with cancer and wanted to downsize. The client, planning on doing an alternate renovation with Alair, decided to purchase the house from the dad and complete a major transformation. We removed glass block and dust rose valances – transforming the interior from dated to modern.
The client wanted to upgrade and modernize the interior and exterior of their farm home, which was partially built by their grandfather in the 70’s. The house required a full abatement and structural reinforcement to accommodate the removal of many of the supporting walls for a modern open concept layout.
The clients wanted a fresh, modern look for their home. This was achieved by converting the main floor into an open concept layout and adding high-end, modern-style finishes. The end result is a bright and open modern home that will last.
A traditional/modern full home renovation featuring hardwood floors and an open concept layout connecting the living room, kitchen, and dining room. The kitchen features a recessed ceiling, tile backsplash, and island with lots of storage.
A full home bungalow renovation features modern updates to the main living areas. The living room and kitchen was converted into an open concept space, giving the home better functionality and the illusion of space.

This modern home took the team 8 months to build. Its open concept space features two 13" foot islands in the kitchen, a custom built wine room and wine 'shelf', gigantic concrete tiles with in-floor heating throughout, and coffered ceilings accented with natural barn wood.
Above grade living space is 3,600 square feet, while the finished basement total 1,250.
This three bedroom, two and-a-half bathroom custom home features a contemporary single wall style kitchen, formal dining room, and an expansive master suite. The clients were looking to create a bright and modern space, completed with high end finishes. The open-concept layout allows the rooms to flow together effortlessly, with the opportunity for lots of creative freedom with the spectacular interior design work. A truly unique and beautiful home was the final result.
A complete custom home, with a unique modern design featuring high ceilings, a contemporary layout, and modern finishes.
This contemporary custom home features and open concept layout, contemporary design, and luxurious finishes. The main living space has a unique, contemporary window layout that is nicely complimented by the high ceilings. The modern light wood floors and white walls bring a very bright and open feel that continues through to the kitchen/dining area. A unique element to this kitchen is the reclaimed wood feature wall. This adds a more rustic feel to the home that matches nicely to the dark tiled ribbon fireplace.
This two storey custom home features a large open great room and kitchen, big bright office, three bedrooms, three ½ baths. The interior is sleek and contemporary, with high quality finishes throughout. The home was carefully designed to make the most of a narrow lot and give a great functional flow. The old home originally on the lot was torn down to make room for this solid contemporary craftsman.
Both the ensuite and main bathroom were renovated in this home, and the new finishes and materials updated the entire look and feel of the bathrooms. The 20 year old ensuite was drastically updated, with a new dual sink vanity with built-in height cabinetry and quartz countertop, a new freestanding bathtub and tile surround, new tile, glass enclosure and fixtures in the shower, and heated tile floors.
This contemporary home mixes modern design with rustic barn board veneer to create a vintage feel. The focus of the design of this home was to be open and allow one room to flow into another. This is seen in the open kitchen to living area, the open staircase, the glass wall of the yoga room, and the oversized patio doors opening onto the back deck. Special features include the use of authentic barn on the exterior, the incorporation of a dedicated yoga studio into the living space, and City views from the second story patio.
The Bendera remodel drew inspiration from multiple eras. High ceilings and plenty of natural lighting give this home an expansive modern feel, while dark hardwood and slate temper the space with traditional sophistication. Rustic accents such as the mantel piece, light fixtures, and unfinished coffee table add a touch of charm and coziness. The result is an absolutely magnificent home full of character and class.
Built in 1990, this 5,500 sq ft home was gracefully expanded to 7,800 sqft. The homeowners loved their location and acreage life but the home was not functional or well-designed. The goal of the renovation was to open up the existing space and increase the functionality of its design. The homeowners also wanted to be as environmentally responsible as possible.
In an effort to maintain environmentally sustainable best practices in construction, we did not tear down the entire house, but preserved as much of the existing structure as possible. Key elements that were preserved include the foundation, exterior main floor walls, exterior second floor walls, 3-car garage, main floor and second floor subfloor and relevant supporting structures.

This full home renovation took advantage of the solid bones of the existing house and used quality materials to create a completely new space that looks and feels like a brand new built house. The kitchen was transformed into a sleek modern chef’s dream using the same smart layout, the bathrooms were designed in a boutique hotel style, and the entire living space was updated with new flooring and paint.
This traditional style rancher was updated with a new modern kitchen, living room, and master suite, and given a fresh new exterior.
This dated family home has been completely renovated into a fun, contemporary space for the clients to enjoy. The exterior of the home has been completely re-done into a contemporary design. The main living area features built in shelving, light wood floors and high ceilings, accented with unique wallpaper and high-end finishes.
The homeowners purchased this 10 acre property 8 years ago, and never planned on leaving. The house unfortunately was not as accommodating. 8’ ceilings, dropped floors, and 2 stairwells to the basement made the large space feel a lot smaller. The homeowners wanted to have enough common space so their family of 4 could live comfortably together, with taller ceilings, more open space in the kitchen, better lighting and windows to fully maximize the beautiful acreage setting.
A “great room” was created on the main floor, creating a space big enough for the family to gather, and take full advantage of the beautiful scenery of the acreage. 2 spare bedrooms were added in the basement, as well as a full bar and exercise room, and theatre/gaming room. The garage was extended and 2 more bays added. Ceiling heights were raised to 10’ and 12’ feet inside the house, and the main floor was opened up to allow the natural light to flow through and light up a previously dark interior.
Custom beam work was done on site to add the “rustic” element to many of the rooms, most specifically the bar area. An old wine barrel was used to wrap around a structural post in the basement, continuing the rustic theme and providing a stylish way of covering a necessary structural post.
Our client came to us for a major renovation of the old, small house on their property. 10 months later, a brand new 6550 square foot home boasting 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, and a 25 foot vaulted ceiling was completed.
The grand new home mixes traditional craftsman style with modern and transitional for a comfortable, inviting feel while still being expansive and very impressive. High-end finishes and extreme attention to detail make this home incredibly polished and absolutely beautiful.
From the soaring ceiling in the entry and living room, with windows all the way to the peak, to a gourmet kitchen with a unique island, this home is entirely custom and tailored to the homeowners’ wants and needs. After an extensive design process including many computer-generated models of the interior and exterior, the homeowners’ decided on every detail before construction began. After fine-tuning the design, construction went smoothly and the home delivered the vision.
The exterior design was fine-tuned with many computer-generated models, allowing the homeowners to explore each design and decide on every detail. Exterior finishes including Hardie Board siding, shake gabling, stone veneer, and craftsman style trim.
The kitchen features thick granite countertops, high-end Wolf appliances, classic subway tile, and pewter hardware. There is LED lighting undercabinet and toekick, including the island. The design includes a custom furniture-style range hood and a massive multi-height island with a secondary sink and a spacious eating area.
The bathrooms use the same thick granite countertops as the kitchen island, with undermount porcelain sinks, white maple cabinetry and pewter hardware.
This home was completely renovated to give the clients a modern and open-concept home. The main living area features vaulted ceilings, dark hardwood floors, and a beautiful master suite.
The homeowners were interested in simply modernizing and upgrading several rooms while enhancing the main living spaces with more lighting and brightening up the key rooms the family used most. The homeowners really desired some personality for the home and envisioned higher quality materials and finishings to accomplish this.
The existing kitchen had a large island and a support beam that couldn't be moved, so it was critical to incorporate the island and the existing beam in the space.
Removing a wall in the kitchen significantly improved the openness and completely brightened up the space. With the wall removed, the open concept dramatically changed the entire floor and flow of the connected rooms. The living room fireplace was completely upgraded as it became a focal point in the open concept space and could now be seen from most rooms in the main living area.
The unused second bedroom space was used to create a large walk-in closet and provide extra space to enlarge the ensuite bathroom.
The totally transformed kitchen was brightened up with sparkling white cabinetry, which included some features such as a built-in wine rack overhead. A stunning custom glass show piece was integrated behind the stove to bring art into the design. It truly stands out as a spotlight piece in the kitchen and adds some personality and colour to the room.
This total transformation renovation is a perfect example of why we describe both our home builds and our renovations as completely custom.
This acreage embodies the individuality of the homeowners who were very much involved in the collaboration of the home's design and build. From a custom spiral staircase requested by the homeowner's daughter to animal imprints in the concrete staircase to a concrete bathroom countertop that displays the homeowner's antique arrowhead collection, this home is unlike any other in how many custom elements were introduced.
The living room on the main floor features a custom mantle with Fir from Vancouver Island and cultured stack stone. The flooring was made from engineered hand-scraped oak hardwood.
In the corner by the window and fireplace rests a rare Diamond Willow tree, which was lovingly sanded and tooled by the homeowner's brother for display in the home. More than 100 hours of labour went into this unique feature, which we built onto a stand to create a striking focal point in the room.
The kitchen-the heart of this home-carries through the solid Fir beams and cultured stack stone to create unity with the living area. Shelving on each side of the large range provides accessible and partially hidden storage for ease of reach to the culinary enthusiast.
