It’s August so that means school is right around the corner for all the kids out there so while there some time left here’s a list of a few things you can do to enjoy what’s remaining of the amazing summer weather.

Mirror Lake: One of my favourite areas in Camrose is Mirror lake. I love bringing my wife and two kids down to Bill Fowler Centre Playground, grabbing an ice cream cone from OleO’s Ice Cream and then going for a stroll around the lake on the trails. Also, as you’re enjoying the trails you’ll be able to see different types of birds that live around the lake.

Camrose Trail system: Camrose has a great trail system throughout the entire city that encourages people to stay active by either walking, running or biking. With approximately thirty-six kilometers of walking trails it’s easy to see why you see so many people being active outside and enjoy all that Camrose has to offer in its natural beauty.

Downtown: Camrose downtown core offers so much to all sorts of ages, whether it be going shopping for something unique or to check out the downtown farmers market that is offered on Thursday evenings. Whatever you’re interested in, there is something for everyone downtown.

Playgrounds: Camrose has around 24 parks throughout the city, so taking to the kids and letting them burn off that energy isn’t a bad idea either. Century Meadows park was recently replaced with a brand new park so make sure you come and check it out, the age range for the new park is 18 months to 12 years old.

Camrose has so much to offer to different people but the biggest thing is going out there and finding out exactly what that is. Make sure you do that because summer is almost over and school is right around the corner.
