For my wife and I, community has always been very important and the longer we live in Camrose, we see that it’s important to the people here as well. Camrose is a beautiful city that has much to offer young families and that’s what drew us here. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” well we have two of them, and to us raising our children in a community that values them was critical to why we moved here. However, the decision was a difficult one, life was comfortable in Strathcona County and our roots ran deep in a community that we were involved in for more than seven years. Also, moving with two young children has it’s challenges but we are very thrilled with our decision to move to this wonderful city.

My career in residential construction started over six years ago, I quickly realized that I enjoy being a part of the process of providing families with a home they can call their own. While working as a framer, I was able to obtain my Red Seal certification as a Carpenter. During my career in residential framing, I had the privilege of being the general contractor for the construction of our previous home which was a gorgeous lakefront walkout bungalow. After obtaining my Red Seal, I wanted to get into more of a management role which led me to working as a site superintendent.

I quickly noticed that there were issues with the process of home building. Project managers were looking after more than 20 houses at one time which led to miscommunication with the trades and homeowners, resulting in delays to the schedule. The end result was frustration for everyone involved.

My decision to become a partner with Alair Homes was because they addressed many of the issues that home builders face. Our clients are able to see every quote and invoice that comes in from each trade, allowing them to see where every dollar is spent on their project. This type of transparency allows me to sit on the same side of the table as my clients and look out for their best interests. The online proprietary software that we developed called Client Control allows clients to have total control over their budget and they are able to see their schedule and budget updated everyday, in real time. Project managers only have enough projects on the go to keep them busy but not overwhelmed, allowing them to have consistent communication with our clients which results in a more efficient construction experience. I chose Alair Homes because whether it’s a custom home or renovation that we’re working on, we are always looking out for our clients with full transparency.

Moving our family with two little munchkins was challenging but well worth it. As we continue to become more involved in the community here in Camrose, I look forward to serving both Camrose and the surrounding areas with integrity, professionalism, and honesty.
