Alair Homes & Commercial is the fastest growing construction company partnership in Canada. Our Victoria office is seeking applications from talented and motivated persons to fill open positions of Carpenter General Laborer and Construction Project Manager for residential and light-commercial
construction job sites.
Carpenter, General Laborer
Duties will include a variety of labor and carpentry tasks such as: wood framing, install windows, doors, flooring, cabinets, structure demolition, quality checks, site safety and clean-up.
Applicants must have:
- Hands-on experience in construction, skilled trades
- Own vehicle (vehicle expense paid)
- Ability to work on feet all day and lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic computer skills for entering time in software
- Steel Toed Boots, basic tools & belt
- Positive and upbeat attitude
- Attention to safety
- Work well in team environment and / or on your own
Construction Project Manager
Duties will include: develop project scope and budgets, setting up quotations and contracts from tradespersons and material suppliers, facilitating the design process and assisting with design ideas, regular service and communication with clients, making permit applications, project scheduling, job-site safety, on-site supervision of tradespersons and laborers, on-time and on-budget project completion, invoicing and collections, administrative management in software.
Applicants must have:
- Network of tradespersons and supplier contacts in the local construction market – At least 5 years working experience in construction industry, previous hands-on labor and skilled trades work
- Post-secondary education in construction management, skilled trades, or civil engineering may count for up to 2 years of experience
- Own vehicle (vehicle expense paid)
- Ability to work on feet most of the day and lift up to 50 lbs
- Advanced computer skills for using custom project management software
- Positive and upbeat attitude
- Team motivating while providing good leadership
- Attention to safety
- Work well in team
