Having been to Niagara Falls on various occasions, it is easy to see why it is called the “Wedding Capital of the World”. The magnificence of Niagara Falls is what draws people to come to this place. Waterfalls are among the many interesting aspects of creation, but they aren’t the only things we can see of nature’s wonders.

Waterfalls in Your Kitchen

Today a new trend has come into vogue in the Islands of kitchens, in homes of high-end design, called a “waterfall island”. These “waterfall Islands” take a designer’s touch, much like nature does with waterfalls, to make the island look exactly like the falls edging. This design reveals an example of fine workmanship. Granite striations fall over the countertop toward the vertical edges to replicate the falling water images we hold in our minds.

I recently looked at a kitchen island where the edges had been filled with some compound and inquired as to why this new kitchen was left this way. I was told it was coming up to Christmas and the person responsible for building the kitchen had been away due to some circumstances beyond his control. The contractor was rushed to finish before the holidays, and was unable to complete the project. One more example, I thought, of the reason haste makes waste. Our lessons are abound everywhere in life, if we pay attention to them like we pay attention to nature.

This is why we must keep in mind what our goals are, and why we need to take our time to do special things like the waterfall, right from the beginning. Niagara falls is a great example of nature doing things right. We at Alair Homes strive to live up to this example, so that it is second nature to us to create perfection. We promise to do this by taking the time to guide those who have the expertise to do it right the first time, every time.
