Justin Thompson has been with Alair Homes® since 2015. After owning the offices in the iconic cottage destinations of Muskoka and Georgian Bay for three years, he took the opportunity to become Regional Partner for Ontario and NE Ohio. Today, Justin Thompson oversees 25 partner offices in Alair™ leading a team of more than 100 people all dedicated to improving the construction industry and client journey. With a core focus to support the company's mission to help others live happier, healthier and more productive lives, Justin elevates owners to work on the business not in the business while he also supports each individuals' entrepreneurial spirit so they can strive in all areas of their life. It's with this spirit, his regions have volunteered more than 270+ hours, sponsored more than 1,000 project management hours and donated approx. $100,000 towards the community last year. Whether it be home, business, or community building, Justin is dedicated to all aspects of the human experience and for that, he's designated as Alair's "King of Culture." Justin is married to Nadia and they have two little boys. When not providing support to those building luxury dream homes for the hundreds of clients served each year, Justin can be found enjoying nature by boating, golfing, mountain biking, fishing, skiing or mixing up a favorite cocktail.
Nicole  Walker

After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University with a BA in Criminology, Nicole worked as a Paralegal for several years at a law firm in Mississauga. During that time, Nicole developed a keen eye for detail, organization and processes before her career took a surprising turn when she discovered Alair. In her current role, Nicole is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Partner Office in the Region. She is passionate about helping business owners get the most out of their business by providing guidance on how to optimize the system and processes our business model provides. Outside of work, Nicole is a devoted mom to two active boys and spends much of her free time attending sporting events and extracurricular activities.
Jacqueline Tyler

Jacqueline's love for storytelling is rooted in her blood; her father worked in broadcast media for over 30 years and her grandparents owned a movie theatre. With more than 14 years' experience working in luxury hospitality & tourism, fashion, lifestyle, sport, and non-profit industries, and a Bachelor of Applied Communications degree from Mount Royal University, Jacqueline joins Alair as Regional Community Manager. Sharing her expertise in PR, marketing, and partnerships, Jacqueline is passionate about creating campaigns profiling Alair's people, projects, and places, specifically those that give back to the community and help others live better. When she's not dreaming up her next idea for Alair™, Jacqueline can be found running, enjoying time with her partner Matt and her puppy Kona, or planning her next trip to Disney, the Canadian Rockies, or Hawaiian beaches.
Evelynn Ratcliffe

Evelynn graduated from York University with a Bachelor in Arts, and a passion for business, marketing, and management. She has held increasingly senior management roles in telecom, professional services, and real estate development organizations. She is a multi-award winning marketing and management professional with awards from the National Association of Home Builders and the International Property Awards, and is one of the country’s first twenty Chartered Marketers. Her more notable projects include the conversion of the historic Tannery District in Kitchener, and the early phases of development of Downtown Markham. After nearly two decades in strategic roles, she finds the tangible rewards of building feeds her soul in a way strategic plans never could, plus, she and her two young daughters, think it’s perfectly ok to pair steel toe boots with a dress.
Andrew Black

Andrew discovered his passion for building at the tender age of six, working for his father in his commercial painting business. Andrew grew up learning the values of hard work, transparent operations, and exceeding client expectations. After graduating from University of Western Sydney with a degree in business, he put his learnings into practice by opening Black General Contracting in 2002 and began building and remodeling homes for Toronto’s most discerning clients. Andrew spent the next thirteen years perfecting his practice, and appearing as an expert on programs like the Marilyn Dennis Show, The Property Brothers, and City Line, before joining the Alair family in late 2015. Andrew’s other great passion is his family of five, and grooming the next generation of Alairians.
Jamie  McKindsey

Though Jamie has been around various aspects of construction for most of his life, he has been working almost exclusively with custom home building since 2012. Jamie is an active individual who enjoys various sports including hockey, snowboarding, golf, and fishing. A self proclaimed country boy at heart, Jamie adapted to big city life after living in various cities all over the country. Most recently he sat on the executive team for an international spec home builder. “I am extremely excited to be part of the Alair Team and share their passion for living better.”
Natalia Harhaj

An ever-growing professional with a master's degree and a passion for learning and development, Natalia has built her expertise in L&D, consulting, coaching, and facilitation. She brings together people and resources for program implementation, process development and strategy. Through her client work, she has helped teams and individuals improve skills, onboard into new roles, and communicate their ideas. She started her interest in construction from a young age doing projects at home with her father, who is a contractor. Seeing the before and after was always her favourite part. Natalia and her husband have two sons and are always looking for an opportunity to host a gathering. In her spare time, Natalia runs a coaching company, hosts an annual International Women's Day event, enjoys writing, watercoloring, and volunteering at her church.
Andrew  Polischuk

Andrew Polischuk is a dynamic individual with diverse talents and passions. Alongside his career as an engineer, he is a devoted family man, athlete, musician, actor, gardener, and dancer.

After graduating from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Andrew initially pursued mechanical design but soon realized it wasn't fulfilling. Joining his father-in-law's contracting business sparked a deep love for home building.

At Alair, Andrew's journey reflects the company's ethos of talent development. Starting as a Project Manager at Alair Forest Hill, he quickly excelled, embracing challenges and demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills. Recognizing his potential, Andrew was offered a partnership, which he embraced with gratitude for the support of his colleagues.

Partnering with his sister-in-law, Natalia Harhaj, Andrew has infused their collaboration with a shared commitment to client-centric excellence.

Andrew loves inspiring others to pursue their own paths of discovery. He enjoys Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth," the Modern Wisdom podcast, and Socrates' wisdom. One of his most favourite projects he’s managed is 2 Dunbar Road, showcasing his dedication and expertise. You can read more about it in Rue Magazine’s Fall 2023 print issue.
David  Butler

David Butler is an accomplished professional with a strong background in communications infrastructure and a passion for community service and custom home building. He holds a college diploma in Aviation Technology, which provided him with a foundation in technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Before joining Alair, David dedicated 23 years to the telecommunications industry, focusing on building next-generation networks, structure and design. In 2013, he embarked on a new journey with Alair, where he continues to grow and thrive.

 
Throughout his career, David has achieved notable milestones, including spearheading the project "A Better Tent City" in Kitchener, Waterloo, which involved relocating 50 chronic homeless individuals into 42 Tiny Homes. He has also built 15 purpose-built investment homes over a two-year period and earned recognition for his work, such as winning the best custom renovation/addition award at GTA's home builder awards, BILD.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, David actively participates in community initiatives, such as fundraising and playing in Hockey Helps the Homeless tournaments. His commitment to community service has been recognized through winning Alair's Community Award and the Portrait of Giving award for his efforts in the York Region.

Specializing in delivering the best customer experience, David ensures that clients receive exceptional service and satisfaction throughout their custom home building journey. In his personal time, he enjoys restoring old speed boats, embracing the outdoors, and spending quality time at the cottage with friends and family.

Reflecting on his childhood aspirations, David dreamed of becoming a helicopter pilot. His favourite aspect of working with Alair is meeting new people, learning about their unique lifestyle preferences, and being part of the transformative process of creating their dream homes.

If David were to be known for expertise in one aspect of his role with Alair, it would be his understanding of what makes a great luxury custom home. Beyond luxury finishes and aesthetics, he emphasizes the importance of comfort, performance, and attention to detail, such as investing in upgraded insulation, windows, and in-floor heating.

In addition to his dedication to excellence, David upholds Alair's core values and commitment to aftercare service, ensuring that clients receive ongoing support and satisfaction beyond the completion of their projects.
Jason Barnes

Jason Barnes is a seasoned professional with a rich background in residential construction, specializing as a Red Seal Plumber with over 22 years of experience. His journey in the construction industry began as a summer student in home renovations, eventually leading him to pursue a career path aligned with his passion. After briefly exploring business studies at Brock University, Jason realized his true calling lay in construction, where he quickly rose from a labourer to a skilled general carpenter.

His career trajectory took him through various roles, including running the renovation division of a plumbing company while pursuing his education to become a licensed plumber. Seeking new challenges, Jason transitioned to become a Warranty Manager for a prominent track home builder in Canada, where he gained valuable insights into different aspects of the home construction industry. However, it was his search for a company that aligned with his values that led him to join Alair.

Starting as a Project Manager, Jason quickly recognized Alair as the perfect fit for him and became a partner in the company. His notable achievements include winning awards both within Alair and from local home building associations, along with receiving positive feedback from satisfied clients—a validation of his dedication to excellence in client service.

In addition to his expertise as a Red Seal Plumber, Jason prides himself on his commitment to enhancing the client experience. Outside of work, he is an avid hockey enthusiast, coaching his son's team and enjoying the sport in his free time. During the summer months, Jason loves spending quality time with his family on Georgian Bay, indulging in boating adventures.

Reflecting on his childhood dreams, Jason had aspired to be a hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs. His favourite aspect of working with Alair is the company's focus on the client experience, prioritising not just the finished product but also ensuring clients become raving fans of their projects.

If Jason were to be known for expertise in one aspect of his role with Alair, it would be for his keen attention to detail and his ability to solve problems effectively. He thrives on challenges and is dedicated to supporting his team to grow and excel in their careers.

Mike has been in the construction industry for over 20 years helping clients build "what they need when they need it." Since then, he's navigated his way through the electrical field, ascending from Apprentice and Foreman to Master Electrician before stepping into his steel-toed boots as an expert home builder in the GTA area. Mike loves building homes for families and sharing his vision and expertise so that they can enjoy their home for years to come.

Brian Fletcher is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the construction industry, combined with a passion for design and building. His journey began in Toronto's Jane and Wilson area, where he graduated from Downsview Secondary School before immersing himself in his family's construction business in 1974. Brian quickly established himself as a licensed carpenter, honing his skills over four years before pursuing further education at Ryerson University, where he earned a diploma in Architectural Technology.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience building with his family's company and later running his own business, Brian joined Alair seven years ago. He was drawn to Alair's transparent project management system, which he believes sets a new standard for client satisfaction and project success. Reflecting on his career, Brian finds fulfilment in every aspect of construction, from the design phase to the final build.

In addition to his professional achievements, Brian treasures his personal life, having been happily married for 46 years and raising two daughters. He is also a proud grandfather, cherishing time spent with his family. Outside of work, Brian indulges in various hobbies, including downhill skiing, archery, and chainsaw artistry. His love for adventure led him to explore motorcycle riding in both dirt and street environments.

While Brian initially aspired to become an architect, his dedication to construction and design has been a driving force throughout his career. At Alair, Brian's favourite aspect of his work is the opportunity to collaborate with clients and witness their overwhelming happiness with the finished product. If he were to be known for expertise in one aspect of his role with Alair, it would be for his unwavering integrity, commitment to his word, and ability to bring joy and excitement to those around him.
Craig  Hepburn

Craig Hepburn has been involved in residential contracting in the Greater Toronto Area for almost two decades. As a licensed P.E. in civil engineering, Craig enjoyed a successful ten-year career in the environmental field, managing multi-million dollar remediation projects. Maintaining his commitment to precision and civic responsibility, he turned his attention to construction, and has specialized in the renovation, restoration and complete refurbishment of century-old homes. He possesses a keen eye that is vital to ensure that the character unique to older properties is maintained, enhanced and seamlessly integrated.
Mark Chuba

Mark Chuba is a skilled professional with a diverse background in various industries. He holds a high school diploma and completed an apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic, laying the foundation for his technical expertise.

Before joining Alair, Mark gained extensive experience across different sectors. From 2001 to 2006, he worked in the auto industry, including stints at Ford, BMW, and a transmission shop. He transitioned into the field of energy auditing from 2007 to 2008 before engaging in construction work, framing multi-family homes in Alberta from 2008 to 2009 and building bank and industrial vaults while moving safes from 2010 to 2013.

Mark's journey with Alair began in 2013, where he worked alongside his twin brother, Matt, as a carpenter, focusing on renovations at Seafare Construction until 2018. During his tenure at Alair, Mark discovered a passion for understanding clients' visions for their homes and guiding them through the construction or renovation process within their budget.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and bike rides, as well as honing his culinary skills and spending quality time with his family. Reflecting on his childhood dreams, Mark harboured aspirations of becoming a firefighter.

Mark's favourite aspect of working with Alair is the opportunity to learn about clients' dreams for their homes and assist them in bringing those dreams to fruition. Additionally, Mark and his brother are known for their creativity in their woodworking shop, constantly crafting fun designs like the Alair Loves Local giant wooden heart and the giant floral Alair Blooms photo frame board!
