Now that the renovation’s have been completed, I must say we are very much enjoying our new found space. It’s never fun dealing with water damage, but when you are past the stress of it all, you look forward to the finished product.

Fresh paint, an upgrade to the trim, new carpeting have all transformed our office space and family room to a very enjoyable area in our home. Whether it’s work or simply down time, the addition of a new gas fireplace has made it very cozy and has added a lot of dimension to the room.

downstairs bathroom renovation in collingwood

As things like this tend to snowball a little, you are always looking at the whole picture. It was only to fair to take the small bathroom and make some simple but effective upgrades. Kevin replaced the flooring with tile and added a new granite vanity top with sink and taps. I added some chalk paint design to the existing white vanity, added some new knobs and presto. We have an attractive 3 piece bathroom for ourselves and any guests that happen to stay over. In addition to this area there is a guest room which gets used often. Collingwood certainly is a beautiful place to live and it’s also a destination, so when friends or family come to visit they usually stay over. I can say I’m proud of what we have made of our home on Georgian Bay, and guests are always welcome.

We are fortunate to have in Collingwood a Home Depot and a very large new Home Hardware. We shop both of these for our Alair Homes clients and they have been useful for our own projects as well. If you ever have to renovate your own space, make it fun, do your homework and have a plan. Well it’s on to the next project for me.
